Free programs provide aspiring entrepreneurs with resources, skills to run a business.

The Women’s Enterprise Development Center (WEDC), an organization dedicated to empowering entrepreneurs to build successful businesses through high-quality programs, advisory services and access to capital, announced its upcoming Path to Entrepreneurship programs and its 60+ Hour Entrepreneurial Training Program.

The Path to Entrepreneurship program is a free program designed to introduce attendees to small business ownership, teaching the characteristics of a successful entrepreneur and what it takes to run your own business. There are three dates for these programs: Thursday, August 10 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Th!nk Dutchess Alliance for Business; Tuesday, August 22 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Middletown Thrall Library; and Tuesday, September 5 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Newburgh Free Library.

In addition, classes for the Mid-Hudson 60+ Hour Entrepreneur Training Program will be held at SUNY Orange in Middletown beginning on September 12, 2017 and are typically held Tuesday evenings from 6 to 9 p.m. WEDC has released a fall schedule that contains all of the topics and dates for this only $300 comprehensive course.

The 60+ Hour training courses provide entrepreneurs with the skills and tools to help them get focused, set better agendas and take the necessary next steps in moving their businesses forward. Attendees of 60+ Hour classes have a better chance of loan approval to start or grow their businesses because of the skills they learn during the sessions. Course size for the 60+ Hour Programs is limited to 20, so interested parties are encouraged to sign up quickly before they fill up.

Registration for the Path to Entrepreneurship program and the 60+ Hour Entrepreneur Training Program is required. Interested participants can sign up at www.wedcbiz.org/events, and can call 845-363-6432 or email cmarsh-croll@wedcbiz.org with any questions.
